Have questions? Here are answers to the most common ones.
What ages do you teach?+
I teach students of all ages, from young children (typically starting around age 5–6) through adults. It's never too early or too late to start learning music!
How much do lessons cost?+
Lesson rates vary based on duration and frequency. Please contact me for current rates—I'm happy to discuss options that fit your family's budget and goals.
Do I need my own instrument?+
For piano students, access to a piano or quality digital keyboard at home is important for practice. Violins can be rented affordably, and ukuleles are very budget-friendly. Voice students just need themselves! I'm happy to help you find the right instrument.
How long are lessons?+
Lessons are typically 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the student's age and level. Beginners often start with 30-minute sessions, while more advanced students benefit from 60-minute lessons.
Do you offer online lessons?+
Yes! I offer live one-on-one lessons via video call. Online lessons are just as effective as in-person sessions and offer the convenience of learning from home. All you need is a device with a camera, a stable internet connection, and your instrument.
What is your cancellation policy?+
I understand that life happens! I ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations so we can reschedule. Please contact me for full policy details.
How do I know which instrument is right for my child?+
I offer trial lessons where we can explore different instruments together. I also have a helpful article on choosing a first instrument. The best instrument is the one your child is excited about!
Do you prepare students for auditions and performances?+
Absolutely! Performance preparation is one of my specialties. I help students build repertoire, develop stage presence, manage performance anxiety, and feel truly prepared for recitals, auditions, competitions, and church performances.
